Scenario
Married, young con artists Lou-Jean (Goldie Hawn) and Clovis Poplin (William Atherton) lose their baby in Texas and decide to do whatever it takes to get it back. Lou-Jean bails Clovis out of prison, and the two steal his son from his foster home and take a highway patrolman hostage. Pursued by a massive helicopter in Texas, the pair become unlikely folk heroes and even begin to bond with a captured cop.
