Scenario
After the events of “Batman” (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, tries to seize the reins of the underworld in Gotham. With the exception of the bat signal in the final shot of the season finale, we never got to see a cameo from Robert Pattinson in The Penguin. Colin Farrell fought hard for his version of the Penguin to smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but to no avail.

However, in his own series, the character is depicted as a casual smoker who prefers cigars. The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo.

Appeared in Graham Norton and Guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood why a skinny, handsome, toned actor was cast, wearing huge prosthetics and a thick suit… especially when I think he looks like some other famous people actors.
But I did not expect that I would like it so much
I also didn’t really understand why this spin-off was needed, and to be honest, Batman reboots make me sick. But after the first episode, I can confirm that this show is amazing (so far). I watched it only because I knew it was necessary to watch as a bridge between the first and second films, as well as my unexpected enjoyment of Pharrell in the first film.
The acting is great, the script is great, and I was surprised by some of the quick turns
Most of all, I liked the fact that there was much more color in it than in “Batman”. I noticed it almost immediately, because for me it was a huge complaint about the film (it felt like I was watching it through the lens of Zack Snyder). I hope the movie will be as good as before because I really can’t wait for the next episode.
